NOTE IT. NAME IT. NUDGE IT!
NudgeNight 2025
Not speaking out, not intervening, not looking – this collective turning a blind eye is exactly where we start.
We use creative nudges to show how small impulses can help break entrenched patterns and create a new culture.
Join us on site at the HSHL.
In addition, there will be a live stream from around 5:15 pm, which will be available on the homepage. The livestream is automatically displayed on the website shortly before the start.

Prof. Dr. Dominik H. Enste
Prof. Dr. Dominik H. Enste is Professor of Business Ethics and Institutional Economics at Cologne University of Applied Sciences and Head of the “Behavioral Economics and Business Ethics” cluster at the German Economic Institute (IW). He combines academic research with practical application and advises companies, associations and institutions on issues of business integrity, trust-based management and ethical framework conditions. As the author of over 30 books and numerous specialist articles as well as a sought-after speaker, he brings economic and psychological topics into the public debate in an understandable and well-founded way. With the IW Akademie, which he founded, he has been training managers in the areas of ethics, behavioral economics and life satisfaction for over a decade.

Tolerating misconduct

Misconduct and its toleration often begins on a small scale – and often goes unnoticed. Not out of indifference, but out of insecurity, social pressure or a lack of error culture. However, it is precisely this silent tolerance that harbors risks: for cooperation, trust in institutions and the integrity of systems.
Whether in the professional environment, in education and research, in public institutions, digital spaces or in normal everyday life – wherever people act, situations arise in which misconduct is overlooked, accepted or not named.
This is where we start with nudging.
Small, targeted impulses can help to break patterns, encourage reflection and strengthen an open culture of responsibility. Nudges make visible what otherwise goes unnoticed in everyday life – and encourage people to stop looking away.
Note it. Name it. Nudge it. – Don’t be part of the problem, be part of the solution.
What is a nudge?
The nudge must not restrict decision-making options; more precisely, freedom of choice must be maintained.

Principle from psychology and behavioral economics
Aims to encourage people to make better decisions through subtle incentives
