The full stream of NudgeNight 2020 to watch.
Keynote speech by Matt Wallaert, among other things, he told us why babies are the best nudgers and why we should all read science fiction.
2020 we were professionally guided by Prof. Dr. Laura Große. Since 2018 she has been teaching as professor for “Differential and Clinical Psychology” at the University of Applied Sciences Hamm-Lippstadt in the study program Intercultural Business Psychology. Besides teaching, she works as a psychological psychotherapist in a practice as part of the German health care system. Her practical knowledge in the health care sector can be ideally combined with the NudgeNight 2020 on the topic of nudging in the health care sector.
Talking to Dr. Laura Große.
We talk about the german health care system, why we sometimes don’t act as healthy as we would like to and how nudges could help us live a healthier life.
We’re all aware of it: Trying to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle, but failing to achieve it. Of course many different aspects play a role in this construct, but what influence does the daily lunch in the company canteen actually have and how can we specifically eat healthier food in this specific environment? Our Nudge provides a planning tool.
Would you be willing to discard €1,500 every year? No? Then why not accept a free additional service of this amount? Our Nudge will explain how to fight fear of condemnation with social probity and loss aversion in the care sector.
46% of people in Germany wash their hands for less than 15 seconds. Hands are the most common disease carriers. Not a good combination? We agree! With our Nudge we want to make people more consciously aware of the duration of the soaping phase of the hands.
According to a study, only four out of ten cases in emergency rooms are real emergencies. As a result: The E.R. is overloaded! How can the overload be reduced and awareness of the responsibility of the on-call medical service be increased? We have developed a solution for exactly this question with our Nudge to relieve the emergency department.
Why does your company spend lots of money on BGM services when they are hardly noticed? Enable your employees to help each other to achieve a healthier lifestyle by integrating BGM measures into their everyday lives. Our innovative solution circumvents obstacles of established health offers with minimal effort – right at the workplace!
Once planned, a purchase can quickly end up in impulse purchases: almost 70% of all purchases are made unconsciously, which means that unhealthy items such as fast food and sweets increasingly end up on the checkout line. In order to counteract this, we re-define the shopping cart. How exactly? You will find out at our Nudge Night.
In Germany, approximately 17.8 million adults suffer from a mental disorder every year with an increasing number. However, only the lowest part of the prevalence makes contact with service providers. The reasons for this are often fear, shame and prejudice. It is our aim to counteract the stigmatization of psychotherapy/ mentally ill people with our Nudge and thus increase the use of psychotherapy.
Every year hundreds of thousands of people in companies are infected by influenza. With the help of our Nudge, we support you to raise the vaccination rate in your company in order to minimize downtime. In this way, you not only make a decisive contribution to combating disease within society, but also effectively reduce operating costs.
For the majority of chronically ill people, it is a challenge to integrate taking medication into their everyday life – more and more young people are facing exactly this challenge, as if growing up wasn’t exciting enough. Irrespective of the consequences, the most important thing, apart from normality and independence, is integration in one’s own peer group. But isn’t #solidarity a #matterofhonour?
In Germany there are currently about 10,000 people waiting for one or more organs. Although 81% of Germans are generally positive about organ donation, not even a third of them have an organ donor card. Our Nudge tackles this problem and at the same time reduces waiting times.
Be kind to your mind. Less psychological stress through mutual consideration. Due to the trend towards open-plan offices, the psychological stress at the workplace is becoming more intense for many employees. One reason for this is the permanent noise exposure. But what can be done about it? Find out at the Nudge Night 2020! So remember: keep it down.
Germany is growing! Over 60% of adults are overweight. We have taken up the fight against the sweet temptation and developed an effective intervention method to turn overweight into a yesterday’s problem!
Mental illness is responsible for the third most days of absence in Germany. Psychotherapy is often the most effective way of treating mental illness. However, they are often complex and expensive, which is why many have to wait a long time for a therapy place. A clear structure, involvement of the patient in the therapy and a better self-knowledge increase the probability for a successful therapy. Which is exactly what the “My Companion” app is all about.
When was the last time you went for a medical check-up? Only about half of men and two-thirds of women in Germany regularly make use of the opportunities offered to them for preventive health care. A timely prophylaxis can either prevent a disease or significantly reduce its course. How an assistant-system can nudge us to a healthier life, you will find out on June 26th at the #NudgeNight2020.
